My name is Sue Bolton and I am an obsessive textile craftsperson!! You can’t pin me down to a specific one – I love them all!! Though I am spending most of my time embroidering at the moment!
I started sewing when I was old enough to thread a needle – making dolls clothes and then tray cloths at junior school. I had a go at making my own clothes – I remember making a shift dress at secondary school, and umpteen skirts. Years later I even made a maternity dress with an embroidered neckline.
I spent about 15 years as a primary school teacher, then decided it was time to take early retirement. So I took up my hobbies again – which then included lace making, canvas work, embroidery and patchwork, to name but a few. (I could include reading, gardening, and holidays!!
With four grandchildren I am loving life!! I am a member of Scunthorpe Embroiderers Guild which is now called Scunthorpe Embroidery and Textile Association (or S.E.A.T.A for short!!) and a few years ago I completed a City and Guilds Certificate in Creative Textiles at the Thrunsco Centre, Cleethorpes, which I thoroughly enjoyed. add another page.
My latest finished piece entitled Winter Moon with lots of hand stitching and embroidery.
